Pinoy rock icon Bamboo announced major tour in UK and Ireland

Fresh from recording another series of the hugely popular TV show ‘The Voice Kids’, Bamboo will take to the road for a UK & Ireland Tour of several of the world’s most iconic concert venues.

The music icon will play dates at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh (October 16), the Palace Theatre, Manchester (October 18), the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London (October 19) and The Olympia Theatre, Dublin (October 24) as he continues the promotion of his second solo album ‘Bless This Mess’, released in late 2015.

“I can’t wait to play my new material for my fans in the UK and Ireland,” said the former singer who first found fame in the mid-1990s as lead singer of Rivermaya before going on to front his own eponymous band.

“The concerts will feature a lot of my new solo songs as well as many of the classics that prove popular every time we go on an international tour.”

Bamboo’s tour of the UK and Ireland will be produced and promoted by Spicy Lemon, the team behind Kamikazee’s hugely-successful ‘Huling Sayaw’ farewell show at Manila’s SMART Araneta Coliseum in December 2015.

It will be the third time Bamboo and Spicy Lemon have joined forces. The Dubai-based company also staged shows for Bamboo in the UAE in 2013 and 2014 and have drawn up plans for what will be the singer’s most ambitious shows outside of the Philippines.

“The venues we will be playing are among the most famous in the world - I’m looking forward to playing them all,” added Bamboo.

“The greatest bands have all played the Hammersmith Apollo so it’s an honour to be able to perform on a stage that has welcomed some of my favourite artists such as the Beatles, Radiohead and U2.”

For the thousands of Filipinos who now live and work in the UK and Ireland, Bamboo’s autumn tour will also provide an authentic link to the Philippines – a fact not lost on a singer who has reached a new global TV audience thanks to his role as coach and mentor on both ‘The Voice of the Philippines’ and ‘The Voice Kids’.

“The support I get when I play abroad is something else so for one night, through my music, I’m going to bring those guys back home - that’s a promise,” he added. “It’s going to be fun and I’m expecting a lot of energy from the crowd, as well as myself and the band – we really want this to be a family affair with the older generation coming along with their kids.”

As well as the UK and Ireland, Bamboo will also play October shows in Dubai, UAE and the city of Doha in Qatar. Bamboo’s tour of the UK, Ireland and the Middle East is produced and promoted by Spicy Lemon with full venue details and ticket information available from www.spicylemon.rocks.

Tickets for Edinburgh, London and Dublin are on sale now, while fans wanting to see Bamboo live in Manchester, Dubai and Doha should check the website and social media for news on when tickets will become available.
