80s concert queen Sheena Easton set to perform in Manila on July 25 at The Theatre at Solaire

The common misconception about doing nostalgic retro shows and concerts is that it’s easy to find any artist past the decades-old mark with a mere few radio hits to trigger childhood memories and bring audiences back to a certain time in their lives. But the real trick, in retrospect, is finding that one artist who will not only bring back a few memories, but offer a spectacle of both talent and numerous pieces of music that audiences have grown-up-alongside-to: a distinct voice, songs for every season and mood, and of course, the know-how to deliver these songs as they were meant to be.

Which is why Random Minds is proud to present one of those rare artists who proudly wear the title of being a “master performer” in the game: SHEENA EASTON, who is making her way to Manila this July 26th at The Theatre at Solaire.

With a critically acclaimed career spanning four decades and including both Gold and Platinum albums in the major continents of the United States, Europe and Asia, Sheena Easton – who has sold over 20 million albums worldwide, garnered two Grammy Awards and has the honor of being the only recording artist to have five records on five major Billboard Charts – has seen and done it all. Aside from her recording career, she has had a multitude of both television and film appearances, and has starred in notable Broadway shows such as Grease and Man of La Mancha, which remains to be one of the top five grossing hits at the box office. Recently she was also inducted into the Las Vegas Hall of Fame.

Of course, we remember her most for her music: a veritable singer for all seasons, her impressive body of work includes being an 80s disco-pop queen with such early classics as “Modern Girl,” “Morning Train (Nine to Five),” then-evolving into a songstress with the Academy Award-nominated James Bond OST “For Your Eyes Only,” and her version of the song “Wind Beneath My Wings,” a country singer via “We’ve Got Time Tonight” (a duet which featured her alongside country music great Kenny Rogers), and a synth-pop superstar of the 80s via the infectious smash single “Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair).” Shortly after, she regained her status as the premier female balladeer with the single “Almost Over You,” which was – and still is – a home-run single around the world especially in Asia.

The subsequent years that followed found Easton exploring more musical territory outside mainstream music working on soundtracks and releasing material alongside producers like Prince, David Foster, Babyface and Nile Rodgers to name a few, she has also embarked on symphony concerts alongside other singers and even did a round of venues in Australia.

And now, the wait is finally over for her Filipino fans as Random Minds will be bringing the memories and the music straight to YOU.
