Have you listened to good music lately?

Art Beat has always been about showcasing local Filipino musical talent. With its aim to make local indie music accessible even to those who do not frequent gigs and shows, the event takes pride in making sure that each Art Beat-goer goes home with a new musician to listen to.

This year’s festival is no different, but offers a little bit more. Tagaytay Art Beat 3 welcomes both the familiar kind and a different type of sound by combining genres that have been and have not been heard on the Art Beat Stage before.

“This year’s edition will be more more intimate”, says Docdef Productions founder JB Balaquit. “It will be a more familial show, focusing on the diversity of musicians scattered and hidden in the Filipino music scene.”

Set to return are Tagaytay Art Beat-erans electro-pop/rock band Autotelic, math rock trinity Tom’s Story, and soul-fusion band Farewell Fair Weather. Also joining these new acts as Art Beat rookies are Oh, Flamingo! and UBE who promise a night of sonic fun.

Feel right at home with singer-songwriters Clara Benin, Reese Lansangan, Julianne Tarroja and Max Javelino. Get lulled with the soothing voices of acoustic acts Leanne and Naara and I Belong to the Zoo. Jam to the folk tunes and poetic songs of Ben&Ben, The Ransom Collective and Munimuni.

Take a look at the face of local hip-hop with hip-hop artists from Uprising records of Anygma: Apoc x DJ Nicko, Kjah x Supreme Fist, and BLKD x The Tooters. Watch the stage transform during the performances of kalimbatronic artist Bea Lorenzo, DJ-and-drums duo Motherbasss, and theatrical horror rock band Mr. Bones & The Boneyard Circus.

Dance all day and night with world beat-jazz-rock outfit Dayaw and djembe artist collective Adinkra Lumads. Sing your favorite Mayonnaise and The Itchyworms songs out loud in the cool breeze.

The tonal diversity in genres aims to introduce rising talents to music enthusiasts who are not Manileños and Manileñas as well, opening more doors of opportunity for these artists. Tagaytay Art Beat aims to enrich the lives of the musicians via exposure outside of the everyday Manila scene and complementing the age-old love of music with engaging visual arts and the scenic nature of Tagaytay itself. The event will assuage all types of people by catering to different needs and will surely be a momentous event.

To give you a taste of the alchemy of music you should expect on for Tagaytay Art Beat 3, here is a playlist you can put on loop in anticipation of May 19th.

Tickets are sold via Tripkada, the event’s official travel partner. Interested parties can choose among the three options: purchasing tickets to the event alone, the Roadtrip to Tagaytay Art Beat package (TAB3 ticket and transportation), and the Tagaytay Art Beat: The Ultimate Package (TAB 3 ticket, transportation and overnight accommodation).

Museo Orlina is located on Hollywood St., Hollywood Subdivision, Tolentino East, Tagaytay City, near the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road crossing.
