HORI7ON is landing back in the Philippines, and they’re ready to welcome their new side with their second concert, Daytour: Anchor High, happening this November 3, 2024, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, 6PM. This time, they’re pulling out all the stops, giving their Anchors something to cheer about with exclusive performances and fresh songs written by Vinci and Marcus. Co-presented by JBL Philippines, this exciting concert brings DAYTOUR to a close and marks the beginning of another that no fan should miss out on.
We got an exclusive concert scoop at the group’s media conference last October 18, where Vinci, Kim, Kyler, Reyster, Winston, Jeromy, and Marcus opened up about their journey, what’s coming, and what it means to be back home for this significant event as global idols.
Reflecting on their Journey So Far
The members looked back on some of their most unforgettable moments since forming the group. For Vinci, being together as HORI7ON and performing on countless stages in South Korea was a dream come true. "Well, of course, being together as HORI7ON. Actually making the dream happen, promoting in South Korea, and of course, performing on a lot of stages together with the whole team. It's always a dream to have done that so thank you so much to all of the Anchors who have supported us since day one and who really put us in our position to be representatives of their dreams."
Winston highlighted the importance of their first concert: “Pinakamemorable po sakin is yung first concert namin because we were able to showcase our talents sa harap ng Anchors, and I'm glad na nashare din po namin yung bond namin sa isa't isa."
Jeromy also touched on a memorablel moment during their first fan meeting: “'Dun namin nalaman kung among itatawag namin sa mga fans namin.” Now, with their second concert named Anchor High, it's clear that the fans have always been an important part of the boy’s story.
Vinci emphasized this connection, adding, “Hopefully, they were relieved na kasama talaga sila sa second concert namin. We really want to involve the people beside us throughout the journey. Our Anchors, thank you guys, we love you."
What to Expect from Daytour: Anchor High
With the first concert already setting a high bar, what makes this second concert stand out? Marcus was clear: “The second concert is gonna be so much different compared to the first one... I have a promise that our performance will shock everyone, so I hope everyone is looking forward to it as much as we are."
This time, HORI7ON is focused on making the concert more connected and personal. They want fans to feel the “Anchor High”—a concert experience unlike any other.
Lessons Learned Along the Way
The journey to becoming global idols hasn't been easy, and the boys have grown a lot along the way. Kim shared how being in HORI7ON changed him: “Dati takot ako sumama sa iba kasi takot akong ma-judge. Pero nung nandito po ang HORI7ON, dun ko po natutunan na ibuhos yung love ko.”
Winston spoke about resilience: “Throughout our journey as a group, sobrang daming pinagdaanan and narealize po namin we will always be here for each other.” Marcus added, “There were definitely times where it was hard for us, and there were times when it felt like we’re all breaking apart... but the biggest lesson we all learned was to be composed during times when it’s hard.”
Reyster’s takeaway was all about keeping stress in check and find happiness: “May time na during Sumayaw Sumunod promotions, na hindi ko pinansin yung emotion ko... Tapos ang nangyari, siningil ako after. Kaya para sa 'kin talaga, huwag magpa-stress. Kasi the more na happy ka, mas magagawa mo yung mga bagay na dapat mong gawin. Ngayon mas alam ko na paano magsestay away from the stress."
A Message to Their Anchors
HORI7ON's connection to their fans really runs deep, and their gratitude is very visible. Kyler expressed his thanks: "Natutuwa ako kasi hanggang ngayon naka-support padin po kayong lahat sa amin. Hindi nyo po kami pinababayaan, kasama din po namin kayo sa mga laban namin.” Marcus echoed this sentiment, saying, “We just really want to show you all the hard work that we've been putting behind the scenes. I hope that all of you guys will be able to see it during our concert on November 3, that's really our big chance to show you guys everything that we've been working on so far. I feel like our main motivation is that our Anchors are here to love us and we're also here to love them back. So that's what my mindset is. My loving back moment is gonna be November 3 so look out for it." Vinci added a heartfelt reflection: “We wanted this to be a closing page to a chapter of HORI7ON’s era... Eventually, we are going to be growing up and maturing as we age, so of course, the concept goes and the music goes along with that.”
Exclusive Content: A Concert You Can’t Miss
One of the biggest revelations from the media conference was the news of brand-new songs to be performed for the first time at Daytour: Anchor High. Vinci teased, "Well. we've said it that we are going to be performing new songs as concert namin. Never before seen, never performed by HORI7ON ever. It's exclusive sa concert. So 'pag pumunta kayo, para na din kayong umattend ng comeback showcase ng HORI7ON. We're gonna be putting it out there, the songs, so you're going to experience the new side of HORI7ON 'cause it's different. I don't know how much I can say about it but..." Marcus followed up with an even bigger spoiler: “Me and Kuya Vinci wrote the songs. We're very happy to be able to really write out the lyrics, really write out the words that we wanna express in our songs so please look out for that. It's going to be very, very good. We did put a lot of effort into this.”
In other words, Anchors are in for a major treat this November 3—new songs, new performances, and a new side of HORI7ON that no one has seen yet.
The Meaning Behind “Anchor High
Vinci shared the thought process behind the concert's title: “We really wanted [the fans] to be a part of the concert kasi kung wala yung Anchors, anong gagawin namin sa concert, kami lang?” he said while laughing. He continues, “Sinama talaga namin sila [Anchors] dun sa pangalan mismo as in literal andun sila. Daytour: Anchor High. So that just makes them in our clerb, in our fam. You know, 'in the clerb we all fam'.
Marcus added a another hint that kept us thinking: “Anchor High... is the end of the happy vibes and then... secret.", he ended mischievously.
With nearly all the performances being new releases, this concert marks a significant shift in HORI7ON’s discography.
One Word for Daytour: Anchor High?
To wrap things up, the boys were asked to describe their upcoming concert in one word. Winston chose “Unique,” Reyster said “Level Up,” Kyler went with “Dark,” Marcus picked “Transformation,” Vinci teased with “Two,” Jeromy confidently said “Amazing,” and Kim described it as “New.”
