Martin Nievera's The King 4Ever concert filled with nostalgic moments

Fans of all ages filled Araneta Coliseum for The King 4Ever: Martin Nievera 42nd anniversary concert last September 27, 2024.

                                                        


The said show kicked off with a VTR featuring Nievera engaged in one-on-one conversation with himself. From stage production and segments with special guests, the crowd sang along with every songs and laughed in every funny banters that he did. 

He started the three-hour concert with "Tonight", then one of his sons, in which flew all the way from Chicago, Illinois performed along with Nievera with "On The Right Track".

His interaction with his fans, you feel the warm and his charisma shine through the venue. He makes sure that each fan he's connected make them special.



Nievera's infectious energy when bantering on stage, as laughter and cheers in the crowd bursted when he encouraged to dance to "Maybe This Time". As his gesture to give away concert merchandise while he sang "Please Don't Throw Away My Love Away", you will feel how he's grateful for the support he was given to him for the past four decades.

Singing along with his audience's exceptional when he sang "Ikaw Ang Lahat sa Akin" with former ABS-CBN executive, Ms. Charo Santos-Concio. He immediately spotted Jed Madela and broadcast journalist Rico Hizon joined him to entertain the crowd.






The talented ensemble of Filipino vocal group, The Company which composed of Moy Ortiz, Annie Quintos, OJ Mariano, and Sweet Plantado. They captivated the audience with their performance of “What’s On the Other Side.” Meanwhile, Nievera shared that the song was written during the lowest point of his life.




He put a fun twist on "The Twelve Days of Christmas" as his way to express his gratitude to the sponsors. OPM powerful couple, TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan performed with him with Monterde's hit song, "Palagi". 



His son, Robin returned to the stage, as the father and son talked about fatherhood. He expresed that Robin would be a better father to his grandson, Finn. After sharing an emotional moment, they performed “I’ll Be There For You” and “You Are To Me.”





With the Broadway medley such as  “Maria,” “Music of the Night,” “Memory,” “Somewhere,” and “This Is the Moment”, each section of Araneta Coliseum gave him a standing ovation as he performed powerful interpretation of each songs. 

Each songs that he perfomed hits hits such as “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin,” “Kahit Isang Saglit,” and “Ikaw.” which resonated deeply with the audience, as it draw cheers, and outpouring sing alongs.

When the Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez – Alcasid entered the stage, creating a wave of excitement among the audience. They performed a heartfelt duet of "You and I" and "On the Wings of Love," which captivated the crowd with their vocal prowess and undeniable chemistry.








Top caliber singers Ogie Alcasid, and Mr. Pure Energy, Gary Valenciano joined Nievera on stage and showcased their dance moves with NSYNC's "Bye, Bye, Bye." A surprise appearance of Randy Santiago on stage ignited the crowd while they were performing “We Built This City”. The energy kept building as they continue with “Don’t Stop Believing”, “Uptown Girl”, “Hip To Be Square,” “The Heat Is On,” and “Footloose.”












The moment he introduced the Concert Queen, Ms. Pops Fernandez, the excitement in the Big Dome intensified. As she graced the stage, she said: "I feel, and I think everyone who is inside Araneta right now—and who’s even outside Araneta—will agree that Martin Nievera belongs on this stage, 42 years after." They performed a stunning medley of “With You I’m Born Again,” “Tonight I Celebrate My Love,” “Perfect Combination,” “Never Gonna Let You Go,” “Almost Paradise,” “Maybe,” and “If Ever You’re In My Arms Again.”








When Nievera sang "Be My Lady", everyone's hitting the note. Hearing the song live as I've been listening to it since I was a kid, reminscing how the said song such a hit in the 80s. 


He was then joined by Los Cantantes de Manila for a soulful rendition of "Chasing Time," and dedicated the song "You Are My Song" before wrapping up the evening with the inspiring “Forever.”

Before leaving the stage, he expressed his gratitude to everyone who watch the concert. He can't believed that he will filled up the Big Dome.







Fans definitely experienced an unforgettable night filled with classic hits and cherished memories that defined the Concert King’s legendary career. The concert was undeniably a night that evoked the nostalgia for memorable times.
