Shawn Mendes mesmerized his Filipino fans

Team Manila Concert Junkies
The most awaited concert of the Canadian pop singer-songwriter, Shawn Mendes was held last March 18, 2017 at Mall of Asia Arena.

As early as 10AM, fans already line up and waiting outside the Arena hoping to get a glimpse of Shawn Mendes before show started.

Exactly 8PM when the entire Arena came to uneasy silence – the lights were turned down and the fans became crazier and wilder. The moment Shawn stepped out on stage with his guitar slung nonchalantly across his back, the fans went wild and the show began with a bang with one of his popular songs “Something Big”.

The fans was immediately singing along and deliriously screaming when Shawn performed his smash hit single “Treat You Better”. As the show continued to unfold, Shawn serenaded his fans with his mash-up songs” I Don’t Even Know Your Name”, “Aftertaste” and “Kid In Love”.

We were beyond stoked after hearing these words from Shawn, “I’ve never been to the Philippines and it is a world away from me. But to hear you sing to my every song is just amazing. I’m so happy that my songs have connected with so many people on many different ways”.

Everyone screamed and sang along with Shawn when he performed “Ruin”. To be honest, I‘ve never heard a crowd as loud as this one. I can also say that he was overwhelmed by the crowd’s reaction as he said “You guys are an absolutely wonderful crowd”.

Other notable tracks performed were “Three Empty Words””Patience””Don’t Be A Fool” and he also performed his latest single “Mercy” it was great and a little bit emotional hearing his golden voice singing my favorite song of him.

Shawn was all smiles throughout the entire concert. And impressed his fans with his piano skills while playing “Life Of The Party” and closing the night with one of his popular songs “Stitches” that been performed with a piano followed by a guitar. As the song ended, Shawn waved his hand before exiting the stage saying “Thank you! I’ll come back soon”.

Lights were dimmed but the crowd unanimously chanted for “We want more, we want more”.

Unfortunately, the show has no encore. But surely, each and every person in the crowd was delighted, content and went home with a smile on their faces.

Shawn Mendes’ concert can be regarded as one of those “a night to remember” show that I attended.
Kudos to all the people involved behind the show most especially to PLDT Home for this great opportunity.
