A Night of Feels and Great Music: Boyce Avenue with Moira Live is a Valentine's Day concert that happened in June!

Gelo de Vera

Boyce Avenue with Moira Dela Torre Live was a lost Valentine's Day concert that found itself during the summer season at the start of the month of June, letting fans believe that they can feel Valentine’s Day any day. The collaboration between the members of Boyce Avenue and Moira was something fresh to the Araneta crowd as both acts share heartwarming (and sometimes even tear-jerking & heartbreaking) love songs.

We first heard Moira as the voice behind the Camp Sawi theme song "Malaya", a song about heartbreak, and it is no denying some music listeners associated the singer with the word “masakit” relating to love. Music listeners immediately made her an internet success as the said song has garnered 52 Million Spotify streams on this day.

Moira Dela Torre, award winning singer-songwriter, YouTuber and member of the acoustic group ASAP Jambayan, enchantingly opened the show with her sweet & delicate voice and her innocent wit as she speaks to the crowd. Moira shares how grateful she is to be playing at the big dome and greets the audience "Good evening, Araneta!" at the top of her lungs. Though not performing her successful and album title track "Malaya", she made sure the audience will have an "Awwwww" moment as she asks the crowd, on a sarcastic note: "masakit kasi sinaktan ka or masakit kasi ‘di mo pa sya pinapakawalan?". Throughout the singer’s set, the audience was definitely getting the feels; especially those who have experienced heartbreak— but most importantly, she prepared the audience to get in the right feels as falling in love, in general, will be the mood of the show. She performs songs off her “Malaya” album, a couple of covers, and brings out co-YouTuber AJ Rafael for "Without You", completely ambushed.

The songstress tells the audience about a down time in her life wherein she says "inip na inip na ako maghintay, only to find na may dadating sa tagpuan and it'll be more than you ask Him for.” She adds “I believe God allowed me to stand in front of Araneta to let you know that when you walk away, nothing is impossible [referring to dreams]" and ends her set with "Tagpuan"— the crowd roars as her fiancé (guitarist) sang some parts of the song. Moira and her fiancé end the song with a sweet look at each other, letting the people inside Araneta Coliseum have an idea that nothing is impossible in love, that you will find the one you're looking for at your own "Tagpuan".

The concert definitely swept the Araneta Coliseum crowd off their feet because of all the feels Boyce Avenue and Moira Dela Torre gave using their music. It was a Valentine’s Day concert that found itself in June- and no one’s complaining.

#BoyceAvenueWithMoira is a reminder to Filipino fans that every day can be Valentine’s Day as long as music is involved.
