Gloc-9's Maleta (feat. Julie Anne San Jose) debuts at Number 1 on iTunes Philippines charts

OPM Rap Icon Gloc-9 continues to make his mark in the industry with yet another fresh collaboration which made its debut at the top of two iTunes Philippines charts.

The track is non other than Maleta, a collaboration with the talented singer-songwriter Julie Anne San Jose, who is also an artist under Universal Records Philippines. This marks the first time the two OPM giants are collaborating on an original track, as they have previously performed together in various television shows and events in the past. Timely too, after Julie dropped a fiery-hot performance of Gloc-9's verse on the Parokya Ni Edgar classic Bagsakan (feat. Francis M and Gloc-9) during a spot number of the GMA-7 musical variety show Studio 7.

Maleta at the top of the iTunes Philippines All-Genres and Hip-Hop Charts

Prior to its release, the track was already Number 1 on the list of iTunes Philippines Pre-Ordered songs, which inevitably led to its top debut on not one, but two charts on iTunes Philippines - namely the All-Genres Chart and the Hip-hop/Rap Chart.

Talking about the song, Gloc says "Goodbye song ko ito sa rap na ginawan ko ng kwento na parang relationship sa isang babae (this is my goodbye song to rap, which I likened to being in a relationship)." Though this is in reference to thoughts about staying in the rap scene, there seems to be no stopping the rap icon from putting out fresh music that still resonates with long-time fans and new fans alike.

Gloc-9's latest collaborations with Al James and JKris

Maleta is released as a single ahead of Gloc-9's upcoming EP which is expected later this year. The track will be included along with "Lagi," a collaboration with fast-rising Pinoy rap artist Al James, which has now garnered over 4.2 million views on YouTube. Aside from this, Gloc also penned and appeared on the track "Pamaypay" with R&B singer and Tawag ng Tanghalan-alum JKris,  and has had various collaborations with Shanti Dope, which clearly indicates his support in grooming the next big acts in OPM and the Hip-Hop scene in the country.

Maleta is now available for streaming on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon Music. Watch out for its music video soon!

Nothing can't stop Rick Price serenading his Filipino fans

Indeed, nothing can stop multi-awarded Australian singer-songwriter Rick Price in serenading his Filipino fans during ‘Heaven Knows PH Tour 2019’ during last Valentines week.

Manila Concert Junkies was there to cover the Manila leg of the concert. The evening was filled with nostalgic love songs after Jinkee Vidal, formerly the lead vocals of popular 90s local band Freestyle, opened with her version of classic hits Starting Over Again, Before I Let You Go, and One Hello and her signature song Slow. She left the stage after a duet of What Do We Mean To Each Other with Joey Generoso, another big name in the 90s from the legendary Side A.

Generoso played with the crowd and let them sang with him from his version of Got To Believe and a set of his former band’s monster hits So Many Questions, Tell Me, Forevermore and Tuloy Pa Rin.

After the set, Price appeared on stage playing the piano as he greeted the audience with Nothing Can Stop Us Now, a song that serves as an anthem to millions of lovers around the planet.  Then he surprised everyone with his rendition of Alicia Keys’ If I Ain't Got You.

After that came his hits one by one:  Not A Day Goes By, Walk Away Renee, and Where Is The Love and of course his biggest hit to date, Heaven Knows.

It was a night full of love and nostalgic moments which deserves to have a repeat. Heaven knows when. We sure hope soon.

Four reasons that makes Wanderland Festival different from the rest

This March 9-10, 2019, all roads lead to the Filinvest City Open Grounds in Alabang, Muntinlupa City once again as Globe Telecom and Karpos Multimedia bring back the magical experience of the annual music and arts festival, Wanderland. For its seventh installment, the festival is now a 2-day affair, offering the #WanderlandCommunity two straight days to see and experience their most-awaited international and homegrown acts perform their hits.

What sets Wanderland apart from the other music festivals? What makes it more magical? Read on:

1. A great set of music by local and international talent
Do you want to hear your favorite songs on Spotify performed live right in front of you? Rely on Wanderland to give you that experience! This festival always showcases a unique set of performers every year. Wanderland Planet 2016 had local music fans singing along to Death Cab for Cutie, Bon Iver, and the Naked and Famous. Wanderland Jungle 2017 brought the anthemic music of Australian indie rock band Temper Trap and the electro-pop beats of Ting Tings. Last year’s edition, Wanderland Pixels 2018, featured Kodaline, Jhene Aiko, FKJ, Daniel Caesar, and Lauv.

This year, the Wanderland community can gear up for another great set as both local and international acts make their respective debuts and return to the Wanderland stage. International talents including indie rock bands Two Door Cinema Club and The Kooks, Jamaican-American rapper Masego, British EDM artist SG Lewis, and electronic duo Honne along with homegrown acts such as Sandwich, Unique, Reese Lansangan, and Clara Benin will grace the stage.

2. Awe-inspiring live art installations
Apart from the rich musical experience, expect more inspiration as local street artists unleash their creative talents with their world-class live art installations and graffiti. Last year, Wanderartists Christian Cardenas, Sam Bumanlag, JP Pining, and Humbly brightened up the Filinvest City Open Grounds even more with their on-the-spot artwork. This year, Wanderartist winners Venazir Martinez, Frances Dandan, Raco Ruiz, and Josh Panaligan are set to perform live art that’s sure to mesmerize concertgoers.

3. Eye-catching festival fashion
Wanderland has become not just a showcase of premiere talents but also an annual avenue for eye-catching festival fashion! Expect to see the Wanderland Community from all walks of life express themselves with their own preferred fashion styles, be it floral, hippie, or the hypebeast streetwear style.

4. Wide selection of exciting booths and activities
During Wanderland Planet 2016, Globe provided an all-in-one interactive hub that allowed visitors to experience the fun activities such as shooting photos and videos on a trampoline and learning about mobile games on 7 different "planets". At Wanderland Jungle 2017, festival goers enjoyed getting glitter tattoos of different animals and designs, making their own postcards and stickers, and even wall climbing. In Wanderland Pixels 2018, there was an Art Market, Arcade, F21’s Pixel Playhouse, and Hope’s Up-cycling booth. With this year’s Magic theme, watch out for another interesting set of exciting booths and activities. Make sure to bring some dough and your bags as you’ll surely bring home a lot of goodies!

Music is a foremost Filipino passion and Globe has made headway in giving its customers both online and offline music experiences through Spotify, YouTube, and concerts by the best local and international acts. This March, the Wanderland community is sure to have a unique experience of only the best of music and bring home unforgettable memories with their friends and family.

Seek the magic and make it matter with the #WanderlandCommunity! To make Wanderland a magical experience for everyone, be sure to observe proper festival etiquette. Smoke in designated areas only, throw and segregate your trash properly, don't bring any illegal drugs or pills, and keep track of the performance schedules.
