A Youthful Night with New Hope Club

Gelo de Vera
Last Saturday at the New Frontier Theater, the boys of New Hope Club: Blake, George, and Reece, kicked off their first world tour titled "Love Again" with the warm presence of their young Filipino fans.

In a roundtable interview with the boys, George admitted that the Filipino fans are indeed the loudest and expressed their love for how kind they are. They love seeing the faces of each fan and love coming back multiple times to play for the country. In addition, the rest of the members expressed their love for playing in the Philippines because the fans are always present to welcome them. With this, they also reassured the fans that they will not take any breaks anytime soon and will just continue to produce more content for their fans to enjoy as well as tour the world. Check out some of Manila Concert Junkies' exclusive photos from the roundtable interview:

Lucky fans who purchased VVIP passes for the event were able to experience a soundcheck and Q&A session with the group. In the said soundcheck, which was hosted by Lexy Angeles from RX93.1, the lads performed 2 songs including "Love Again", and answered some of the questions the fans raised. One highlight would be when the boys sang along to "Someone You Loved" with a lucky fan. Moreover, the soundcheck and Q&A session were followed by the "meet and greet" wherein fans who purchased VVIP tickets were grouped into five for a very quick photo opportunity with the band.

NHC's show was kicked off with "Crazy", which fans definitely roared to as everything was a surprise for them, considering there isn't a setlist on the internet just yet, and the Manila show was the kickstarter. For sure, the boys of New Hope Club deserve the screams and "kiligs" they're getting over their visuals because Reece, who wore a blue polo shirt, looked more neat and polished which matched his charisma. Blake, one of the main founders of the group, rocked a tucked black shirt underneath his blue stripes polo. Definitely, moments that made us *squeal* is whenever he fixes his hair in a ~cool~ way, if you know what we mean ( see photos below ;) ).

George, on the other hand wore a light yellow long sleeve, which somehow looks like a barong at first sight, and whenever he interacts with the fans, we just couldn't help ourselves but to see how pure he is. Being in the show will definitely make you feel nostalgic of loving boybands, because NHC was introduced by the same producers behind The Vamps. Moreover, the boys even performed a cover of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" by The Beatles, just so they could give props to where they get their musical inspiration from. It was a short but sweet show, considering the band only performed 14 songs, including "Medicine", "Let Me Down Slow", "Love Again", "Permission", a song cover "I'm So Tired", and hits "Perfume", and "Fixed". Whether you've been a fan of One Direction, Big Time Rush, and the Jonas Brothers Before, New Hope Club will get your interest back in appreciating boy groups. As for us in Junkies, it was a trip down memory lane to our fanboy and fangirl moments over boy bands.
