The South Korean actor, Ahn Hyo Seop, met his Filipino fans, also known as PH Pauljjaks, for the very first time last October 8 as part of his Asia tour, <The Present Show> 'Here and Now'. The Mall of Asia Arena was packed with people of all ages who were excited to finally see the "Business Proposal" actor in person.
"Through this fanmeet, I was able to see the heartfelt love from fans from different countries," Hyo Seop shared during the press conference a day before the big event. He also expressed how glad he was to start the fanmeeting tour, as it gave him the chance to visit the Philippines and meet his Filipino fans.
He started the night with 'I’m Your Man', serenading his Filipino fans with his dashing smile. Of course, PH Pauljjaks fell in love all over again as they saw the actor rocking the all-BENCH look. Ahn Hyo Seop also shared his thoughts on his recent and well-loved projects. Each drama made fans throughout the venue swoon over his iconic and sweet scenes that were played on-screen. Especially notable was the swing scene with co-actor Kim Sejeong. The actor recalled that the scene was not originally planned that way—it was changed on the spot to improve it. He also remembered how cold it was while shooting that scene!
The energy levels of Filo-Pauljjaks skyrocketed as Ahn Hyo Seop amazed the crowd with his dance moves to Taeyang’s VIBE. Everyone went wild, vibing with the actor. Some were even surprised that the acclaimed actor could also rock the dance floor. For those who aren't aware, Ahn Hyo Seop trained as a K-pop idol for three years under JYP Entertainment.
The multi-talented actor didn't skimp on fanservice, either. He had present boxes with ticket numbers inside and picked out lucky fans to join him on stage for a Polaroid picture and a gift bag from BENCH! He also struck cute poses on-screen with selected Pauljjaks. If that wasn't enough fanservice, he then descended from the stage and roamed the floor of the MOA Arena to be closer to his fans. Without a doubt, this was the cherry on top of the fanmeet!
The most-anticipated segment of the tour was certainly when the actor appeared onstage with his piano. He first played Yiruma’s 'A River Flows in You', then proceeded to sing some of his favorite songs. Ahn Hyo Seop put his heart into singing The Beatles’ 'Let It Be', 'Don’t Worry' by Lee Juck, and 'Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You'. The event ended with his powerful vocal performance of 'Thanks' by Kim Dong Ryul, as a show of gratitude to his fans for the support they have given him since the beginning of his career until now.
Ahn Hyo Seop sang, played the piano, danced, delivered excellent fan service, and poured his heart out for his fans. It was a long-overdue present that was worth the wait. The 'Here and Now' event was an experience you would want to relive.
