ATC diehards flocked the venue, singing and screaming their hearts out as the three-piece collective, comprised of members Chrissy Costanza (vocals), Daniel Gow (guitars), and Will Ferri (drums) along with touring bassist David Whitmore dished out their notable tracks – both old and new, even treating them to stripped down versions of some of their songs.
Before the show even began, lucky VIP ticket holders even got the chance to get up close and personal with the trio during their meet-and-greet sesh.
The New York-based musicians opened the show with “good guy”, electrifying everyone with their contagious energy. Chrissy’s killer vocal prowess was on full display, coupled with the rest of the crew’s hard-hitting instrumentals.
However, everyone in attendance can certainly agree that the true highlight of the night was whenever the singer impressively belted out their songs — including “blindfolded”, “silent stranger”, and “they won’t save us” among others without breaking any sweat, all while doing her signature backbend which is a true sight to behold.
The band returned for their sixth show in the country and they thanked their Filipino fans for their undying support through the years. “How are you doing Manila? It's been a while since we've been here, 5, 6 years?”, Costanza greeted as the crowd went into a frenzy. The 28-year-old singer was even stunned to see the faces of their younger fans losing their minds on the front row.
Two hours surely wasn’t enough but Against The Current sent everyone home in a state of euphoria, performing “Legends Never Die” and “weapon” for their encore. We can’t wait to have them back!
