Legendary K-POP idols HYOYEON of Girls Generation, YUGYEOM of Got7, and SHINee’s TAEMIN graced the MOA Arena stage at OctoArts Entertainment’s K-Magic Live in Manila last Friday night.
Uniting three major fandoms from various generations, the event turned out to be a big party with their K-Pop biases! Flexing their OOTDs in hues of pink, green, and pearl aqua, the fans filled the MOA Arena. Despite it being Friday the 13th, a day typically associated with superstition, the fans chose excitement and thrill, making it one unforgettable night.
PH SONEs couldn't contain their excitement as HYOYEON appeared onstage, performing her latest single, 'Picture'. After greeting the fans, she performed the crowd favorite ‘Second’ with her alluring charm. A HYOYEON show wouldn't be complete without her renowned dance moves, right? To prove why she's called the dancing QUEEN, HYOYEON performed her solo hits, 'Dessert,' and 'Deep'. In response, all members of the audience, regardless of their fandom color, found themselves moving to the rhythm with the main dancer of Girls' Generation.
HYOYEON recalled her last visit to Manila in 2020 as a DJ and expressed her gratitude to the SONEs who had patiently awaited for her to return and perform as an idol. As she concluded her set, she made a pinky promise to the Filo-SONEs to return again soon.
Next up was Got7's YUGYEOM, who really knows how to hype up a crowd! The arena reverberated with cheers from Filo-Ahgases as YUGYEOM served the longest setlist of the night: 12 songs, including an unreleased track, 'Always Ready’. His setlist featured solo tracks like 'LOLO', 'Say Nothing', 'I Want You Around', and more. He even vibed with his fans to a GOT7 hit, 'Hard Carry'.
Just as gracious as YUGYEOM is as a person, he acknowledged the other fandoms present in the venue and even taught a short fanchant for his song, "Love The Way". To further energize the crowd, he playfully grabbed some water bottles with his dancers, ensuring everyone in the floor area got a little bit drenched!
And of course, once the K-pop idol, known as the 'idol of idols', appeared on stage, he was greeted with deafening screams! The beloved SHINee maknae performed the iconic 'MOVE' for his Filo-SHAWOLs first, mesmerizing everyone with his smooth and detailed moves. Taemin then continued to perform other solo hits like 'Advice', 'Criminal', and 'IDEA'.
TAEMIN expressed his gratitude to everyone for showing up and waiting for his return. The dancing king also discussed his upcoming comeback, titled 'Guilty', teasing fans that his comeback’s theme will be a little “Spicy”.Furthermore, he promised to reunite with the rest of SHINee for a group performance as soon as they have an opportunity to do so.
