What a beautiful day indeed it was for South Korean actor Jang Kiyong, as he reunited with his Filipino fans last Sept. 28, 2024 at Samsung Hall, SM Aura, for his ‘2024 JANG KI YONG: ‘BEAUTIFUL DAY’ Fanmeeting in Manila.
The venue instantly filled up with cheers as the actor himself started off the show by greeting fans up close and personal before heading up onstage. He then serenaded the fans with a lovely cover of John Park’s “Thought Of You”, showcasing his sweet and romantic vocals. Afterwards, Jang Kiyong greeted fans once again but in tagalog, “Kamusta kayo? Ako si Jang Kiyong”, and expressed how excited he was to meet his Filipino fans after 5 years.
For the first segment, he got to share some stories from the special memories of his life and career, from his first Manila fanmeeting, to shooting his dramas “My Roommate Is A Gumiho” and “Now, We are Breaking Up”, to his military enlistment, to being casted in the military musical, “Blue Helmet”, to his Hawaii vacation trip, and to finally, shooting his latest drama, “The Atypical Family”! The fans definitely got to see different sides of the actor while sharing these personal stories.
Then, he went for a special treat as 4 lucky fans got to reenact romantic scenes with Jang Kiyong himself! Not only did those lucky fans get to experience a real-life Kdrama moment with Jang Kiyong, but they each also got to take a polaroid picture of their scene reenactments as well! The fun didn’t stop there! The actor then gave his all with fanservices for his Filipino fans, with a Tagalog wake up call, sending 5 different heart poses to the crowd, and lastly, a Kpop Dance Challenge cover of NCT 127’s “Walk”!
He then continued the show with a lovely cover of Ahn Seha’s “I Love You”. Following that, Jang Kiyong got to read some heartwarming messages that fans had written for him before the fanmeet. On the last segment of the show, the actor prepared a special surprise for the fans: Everyone gets a Hi-Touch if Jang Kiyong and selected fans win at least 3 games! For that amazing fan benefit, they definitely gave their all in playing ‘Stacking Chairs’, ‘Kick A Sipa’, and ‘Group Jump Rope’! The actor wasn’t the only one with a surprise, his fans had also prepared a special fanmade video and cake for him.
For his final stage, he sang “Twenty Five Twenty One”. Two hours with Jang Kiyong flew by so fast, he then bid goodbye to his Filipino fans by thanking them for coming to the show, and wishing them great health and happiness everyday.
