The rock legends are back! After 13 years of waiting, American rock band Smashing Pumpkins returned in Manila for their Rock Invasion tour last September 29, 2025 at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Filipino Pumpkinheads who waited for the moment to see Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and also Jack Bates who played the bass; Kiki Wong who joined the band last year celebrated their timeless hits for one night only whether it's their first time to see them or just want to rewatch them again after more than a decade.
They started the show with the classic hit, Glass Theme and Heavy Metal Machine. When the first note of Bullet with Butterfly Wings echoed the venue, everyone's stands up, and singing their heart out.
When songs from their albums, Siamese Dreams, and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness played by the band such as Today, 1979, Zero, Tonight, Tonight, Porcelina of the Vast Oceans, Mayonaise, Cherub Rock, Disarm, and Jellybelly performed, the energetic feels surrounded every sections of the said venue.
Epic guitar riffs by Iha, Wong, and Bates, added up with Corgan's powerful voice makes the crowd ignite. The twenty-one songs that they played infront of thousand of Filipino fans --- a solid night to reminisce the younger days and how the band reconnected with their fans all these years.
