Pumped up beats for Foster kids: Foster The People Live In Manila 2018

Foster Kids definitely had the greatest time witnessing the comeback of indie-electronic pop band Foster The People. With the new sound carrying more electronic beats and heavy bass, the band was still embraced warmly by their Filipino Foster Kids.

With a setlist curated mostly with their recent songs from "Sacred Hearts Club", their latest album, the voices of Foster Kids beautifully accompanied the vocals of lead singer Mark Foster.

Queen's Feddie Mercury was inspirited by Mark, coming back on stage wearing only a white tank top shares to the crowd how special the Philippines is and also sharing that his grandfather and father used to live in the country.

Mark's said grandfather was a boxing champion while his father is a peacemaker. Mark says he's "a little bit of both"

The band, formed in 2009, is now composed with Mark (vocals), Sean (Guitar), Isom (Keyboard), Mark (Drums). The band was also joined by their touring members for the said concert.

The setlist included the following songs: Helena Beat, Lotus, Houdini, Call It What You Want, Sit Next To Me, the smash hit "Pumped Up Kicks" and more!

Still wearing a bandana, Mark, all overwhelmed, took time to sign autographs for the Foster Kids after the magnificent live set. He also tells the attendees that they are the reason they came back and will keep coming back to the Philippines.

It was a night of relieving the old sound of Foster The People but also embracing the changes and the shift of their music to something more inspired by electronic beats. What's remarkable is that the fan base of the band embraced these changes and are still there to support Foster The People and their music.

Perfect songs, happy moments, feel the love at "Dionne Warwick: A Valentine Concert”

Even if she’s had her share of Grammy trophies and triumphs, Billboard achievements, and a great number of popular ballads, Dionne Warwick humbly declares, "The word or label 'Diva' is an operatic term and I do not sing opera, therefore I cannot and do not accept being called as such."

She is revered as a singing legend and popular music icon, who to many of her admirers is gifted with a melodic and soulful voice. Her songs continue to touch the hearts of people who believe in romance, love, friendship, and forever.

On February 13 and 14, 2018 at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino, the charismatic chanteuse headlines a two-night concert.

"I've been to Manila several times...Manila audiences are wonderful, they have always seemed to enjoy my show," says the singing legend.

For her Valentine concert, people will get to enjoy, "Songs I am expected to sing and a few surprises…it will just be two nights of wonderful musical evenings."

Be ready to be enthralled and mesmerized when you hear her famous songs such as “Don’t Make Me Over,” “Walk On By,” “Do You Know The Way to San Jose?,” “Alfie,” and “I’ll Never Love This Way Again” and other signature songs.

She shares, "All of my songs are close to my heart as they are like my children. The success of these songs; I attribute both to the wonderful composers and lyricists."

What are the ingredients for a great song? Warwick replies, "Lyrics first, as I must believe in the words I sing, and of course, a memorable melody."

The musical icon has formed a long and successful partnership with songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Warwick ranks among the 40 biggest hit makers of the entire rock era, based on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles Charts, with 56 of the legendary American singer’s singles making the Billboard Hot 100 between 1962 and 1998 and 80 singles making all Billboard charts combined.

For Bacharach, Warwick is "A woman who has a tremendously strong side and a delicacy when singing softly--- like miniature ships in bottles.”

Warwick received her first Grammy in 1968 for “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” and her second in 1970 for “I’ll Never Fall In Love Again.”

Under Arista Records, Warwick won the Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “I’ll Never Love This Way Again” and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for “Déjà Vu” in 1980. She became the first female artist in the history of the Grammys to win in two categories on the same year.

In 1985, Warwick contributed her voice to the multi-Grammy winning song “We Are The World” which also spent four consecutive weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. On the same year, she recorded the American Foundation for AIDS Research benefit song “That’s What Friends Are For” with Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Gladys Knight.

In a career that spans five decades, Dionne Warwick’s melodic and soulful voice remains unmatched.

To Bacharach, David and the multitude of people she had the pleasure of working with, Warwick enthuses, "I am forever grateful."

To newcomers in the industry, her advice, "Be true to yourself and what you want...if you can think it, you can do it."

"I am truly looking forward to coming again to Manila and I do hope all of you will be at the concert to enjoy," says Warwick.

We know we will never love this way again, that is why this season of romance, be part of “Dionne Warwick: A Valentine Concert” to be held on February 13 and 14, 2018 at the Solaire Grand Ballroom.

6 reasons why you need to see Foster the People tonight at Kia Theater

When they first came to the Philippines in 2012, Foster the People lit up the entire Araneta Coliseum with “Torches” and turned their concert into a non-stop dance party that left their thousands of fans wanting more.

Now after five years, Foster The People makes their highly anticipated return up close and personal concert, and this time they are bringing the “Sacred Hearts Club Tour” to the KIA Theater on Friday January 26, 2018.

The band, founded in 2009 by Mark Foster (vocals) is now composed of Sean Cimino (guitar), Isom Innis (keyboard) and Mark Pontius (drums). They first burst into the indie scene with their massively popular single “Pumped Up Kicks” which took home numerous awards and made them one of the most successful bands of the year.

Since then, they have been filling concert venues and dance-floors all over the world performing at some of the biggest international music festivals including Coachella, Glastonbury and Lollapalooza.

With millions of album sold and a lot more hits from their latest album such as “Doing It for the Money” and “Sit Next to Me” it’s no wonder that all their Pinoy fans are excited and ready to party all over again.

Here are five reasons why everybody is ready with their Pumped Up Kicks for Foster The People:

1. Their debut album Torches, debuted at #8 on Billboard eventually selling nearly two million albums and over nine million singles worldwide. The album featured the #1 hit single “Pumped Up Kicks” and spawned several other chart topping singles such as “Don’t Stop (Color On The Walls),” “Houdini,” and “Helena Beat.” Foster the People garnered three Grammy nominations for its monumental debut, including Best Alternative Album, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Pumped Up Kicks” and Best Short Form Music Video for “Houdini.”

2. The other songs in Torches were also hits and was used in TV series and commercials; "Pumped Up Kicks" (Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Friends with Benefits, Entourage), "Houdini" (Gossip Girl); "Helena Beat" (The Vampire Diaries); "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)" (Suits, Nissan Motors commercial); and "Call It What You Want" (FIFA 12).

3. Their viral hit “Pumped Up Kicks,” was declared “the year’s anthem” by SPIN and was the most streamed song on Spotify in 2011. It was also the first song to top both Billboard's Alternative Songs and Dance Airplay charts and was the sixth-best-selling digital song of the year, with 3.84 million copies sold.

4. "Supermodel, the second full-length record from Foster the People, was influenced by frontman Mark Foster’s world travels and shifting perspective, the album was recorded in studios around the world and features fan favorites including "Coming of Age" and "Best Friend."

5. Their third album “Sacred Hearts Club” proves that Foster the People’s genius extends beyond one genre fusing elements of neo-psychedelia, punk, funk, soul, electronic, dance and hip-hop while still maintaining signature Foster the People indie-pop sound. It showcases band’s musical development and how the group can stay true to its art while being unrestrained by the expectations of listeners.

6. A review of The Sacred Hearts Club Tour describes it as an “integration of all three albums into one evening made for spectacular variety. Foster the People "crafts albums like a collection of vignettes; the songs on each album are interwoven with similar themes, but each album is clearly independent of the others. “Sacred Hearts Club” is most distinguished by its elements of hip-hop, rap and psychedelic music.”

The Moffatts set to release their first single, Secrets

Guess who's back!

It has been 18 years since, Canada’s Much Music’s Fan Favourite Band of the Year, and hosts of the 2000 Juno Awards, released any new music. But that’s all about to change!

On January 10th, 2018, The Moffatts will release the first single from their new 6 song EP of the same name “Secrets”. On January 9, the single will have a world premiere on EasyFM -- 6:15 pm Manila. You can stream it here.

The EP will follow in the footsteps of past Moffatt records, featuring powerful harmonies, infectious rhythmic melodies, and great guitar licks. The EP was recorded and produced by The Moffatts, and the brothers were writers on all songs. The EP will be distributed by BEC TERO MUSIC; a SONY MUSIC affiliate out of Bangkok Thailand.

The Moffatts consists of four brothers: Bob Moffatt – Drums, Programming, and Vocals; Clint Moffatt – Bass, Acoustic Guitar, and Vocals; Dave Moffatt – Keyboards, and Vocals; and Scott Moffatt – Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Programming, and Vocals.

Back in the late 90’s The Moffatts were EMI Music’s #1 International Priority, and toured the world extensively, where they sold in excess of 7 million albums, and were presented with Gold and Platinum records in 32 countries – which included going 10X’s platinum in The Philippines. Their last album, Submodalities featured the #1 hit - Bang Bang Boom, which at the time was the fastest #1 single in Canadian music history.

The Moffatts signed their first record deal in 1994, and at the time they became the youngest band to ever sign a major label, recording contract. Label mates were none other than Shania Twain, and Toby Keith. In 1997 The Moffatts changed genre and signed a new deal with EMI Electrola out of Cologne, Germany.

Although The Moffatts were not performing as a band from 2000 to 2018, it doesn’t mean that they had hung up their instruments. Scott was the producer that broke Slot Machine, Thailand’s most successful international Pop/Rock band, and won producer of the year. Currently Scott produce’s country music Super-Star Luke Combs. Bob and Clint released a number of projects under various names. Same Same featured the biggest selling international album of the year throughout S.E. Asia in 2006 with the #1 hit ‘Love Isn’t’. Like Strangers had a top 20 hit with ‘Goodbye Baby’ in 2014, and Endless Summer’s hit ‘Amen for Women’ reached #1 on Spotify Canada charts in 2016. When The Moffatts disbanded Dave choose a completely new direction, pursuing the spiritual path of Yoga, until mid 2017 when he chose to return to the world of music, and joined his brother’s to record this new record, and write songs within Nashville's prestigious A circle.

The Moffatts will begin touring in late April of 2018.
