All Systems Go for Far From Perfect: True Faith’s Senti 25, The Silver Anniversary Show

With less than a month to go, the fans of True Faith are getting more and more excited about one of 2018’s highly anticipated OPM concerts … “Far From Perfect: True Faith’s Senti 25, The Silver Anniversary Show” which will be slated on Oct. 25, 2018 at the Music Museum.

There’s just no stopping phenomenal band True Faith from doing what they love to do – that is performing on stage in front of their fans and communicating directly with them through their endearing music. It’s really something to look forward because this is deemed to be a grand Anniversary celebration with their fans and friends in the business.

The anniversary show is expected to be very gratifying especially for the true blue True Faith fans as they will be playing songs that are rarely heard in the band’s usual sets in bars and gigs. True Faith promises to do an electrifying lengthy set, filled with excitement and energy throughout the show. As shared by their lead vocalist Medwin Marfil- "musically and visually, it shall be a delight’. Musically - besides having promising OPM and established artists like Better Days, Cooky Chua, and DJ Lopie “Ouch” Guzman as special guest performers, other friends and fellow iconic musicians will be jamming with us on stage as well. The versions of all your favorite Truefaith songs will absolutely sound more brilliant on that night. VISUALLY- the Visual Effects for the show will be designed by the talented filmmaker himself MR. ADRIAN ARCEGA. The show won’t only be a feast for the ears but also a spectacle for the eyes. Siguradong sulit ang concert!"

When asked about their musical influence: "Our kind of Filipino pop is a confluence of our favorite genres: Classic OPM, 80’s new wave, British sophisti-pop and acoustic or folk music. We have a lot of artists that we admire and that have greatly influenced us like Simon & Garfunkel, Duran Duran, Everything But The Girl, Freddie Aguilar, Apo Hiking Society...just to mention some.”

True Faith’s brand new album is aptly titled, “Sentimental”. It is the band’s 10th full-length album. “SENTIMENTAL” features potential hit singles such as “Paano Ka Magiging Akin?” “The Rain,” “Consolation For A Fool,” “Cool Lang,” the MGMT “collaboration,” “Ako at Si Michael” and the latest single, “Kahit Na” - written by Sorsogon Gov. Robert Lee Rodriguez . The music video of “Kahit Na” is directed by Lui Villaruz. It was incidentally was shot in Sorsogon, and can now be viewed on YouTube and MYX. “Sentimental” once again showcases Truefaith’s music as it should be - exquisite, refined and stylish. MTV Jammin': New weekly series to feature stripped down performances by your fave artists

MTV Asia's raw music series captures artists in a casual, intimate session. Filmed (mostly) in MTV Asia's freshly minted in-house studio, it gets real in here, with heartfelt renditions, inspired covers and reinterpretations.

Enter our MTV JAMMIN' space, which is thoughtfully kitted out with musical instruments as part of our partnership with Swee Lee.  The idea is to have a couch-side spot with artists from the region and across the world to come down and have fun by performing stripped down takes on well-known hits, new songs and old favorites.

Grammy award winner Alessia Cara kicks off the weekly series, to be followed by Australian heartthrobs 5 Seconds of Summer, Juno awards nominee Scott Helman and an Asian line up of Midnight Fusic, Trisouls, Rahmani Astrini and more!

“MTV JAMMIN’ is all about creating a new live music series that is intimate but big on sound. We want artists to let their love of music take over, giving some amazing talent the space to spontaneously jam and perform. The MTV Asia studio is a place where they can chill and have some fun,” said Sari Trisulo, Executive Producer for shows, MTV Asia.

“MTV JAMMIN’ is another of our initiatives looking to bring fresh vigor and heart around music. The series underlines our growing embrace of short form, building accessible, recurring formats. We’re loving the eclectic talent coming through those elevator doors into this new space of ours, which we hope becomes a little haven for inspired creative expression. Fans should keep an eye on this one!”  said Abhishek K Rao, Senior Director, MTV Brand, Southeast Asia.

The Itchyworms set to invade Singapore to scratch an Itch on November 3

It has been almost a decade since The Itchyworms performed in the city-state of Singapore. The now-iconic Marina Bay Sands was still under construction, for one, and Universal Studios was probably still in blueprints.

The last time the band was there in 2008, they performed in a double bill with Marcus Adoro.

First, to serve as his backup band, playing songs from his seminal solo album, Markus Highway, and second, to play their own songs. The night ended in an epic extended jam on old Eraserheads songs.

The years have only made the band’s wanderlust — itch, to borrow from their name — for Singapura that much more insistent. The hunger for the hawker holy grail that is authentic laksa is quite real, and so is the thirst for performing in front of new audiences, such as Singapore’s music-loving folk, whether expats or locals.

Now, the band will finally get to scratch their decade-old itch for Singapore! The Itchyworms have partnered with the awesome people of Pinoy-powered events group Requiem Rising SG, to bring you an extraordinary one-night-only musical experience.

All paths lead to Hero’s Bar on November 3. Whether you're hankering is for food, drink, or really good music, it’s sure to be satisfied.

If you're from Singapore, save the date: November 3, 2018 at Hero’s Bar, 69 Circular Road (Boat Quay Area). Doors open at 6PM

There will be front acts such as Pinoy indie groups Samzara and Liger. Media partners for #TheItchywormsSG2018 are Bandwagon PH, Manila Concert Junkies, Filipinos in Singapore and Pinoy Shows in Singapore.

Get your tickets via Peatix, (470 North Bridge Road, #05-11 Bugis Cube), Iskina Cebu (Timbre+, 73A Ayer Rajah Crescent) and #Sylog (Tampines Mall, 4th Floor, Kopitiam Food Court, 4 Tampines Central 5.)

Ticket price:
VIP: SGD 50 (Reserved seating. With meet and greets after soundcheck and performance)
Regular: SGD 30

Nostalgic 80s vibes with Tiffany, Debbie Gibson

Teen pop sensations of the late 80's Debbie Gibson and Tiffany rocked the MOA Arena last Saturday, September 15, 2018, despite the unfriendly weather brought by typhoon Ompong.

Debbie Gibson known for her hits "Only in my Dreams," "Shake Your Love" and "Foolish Beat" teamed up with singer-songwriter Tiffany popular for her songs "All This Time", Could've Been", If Love is Blind and "It's the Lover (not the love)".

The two iconic singers amazed the audience with their heartful performances as they sang their masterpieces which were once on the top Billboard hits during the reign of their careers. The night of retro music #TiffDebMNL was brought to us by Random Minds.

Shane Filan swooned over his Filipino fans for Love Always tour

After his successful pair of mall shows in February, the former frontman of 90's iconic boyband Westlife, Shane Filan returned to Manila for his much-awaited Love Always Tour. It was held last Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Kia Theatre in Cubao, Quezon City.

The Irish singer-songwriter serenaded his Filipino fans with some of Westlife's biggest hits such as 'My Love', 'If I Let You Go' and the classic 'Uptown Girl' along with a bunch of classic love songs from his latest album.

Upon singing one of his latest tracks 'Home', he joyfully expressed how everything about Manila seems to be overwhelming and already very familiar to him as he already considers it his "second home".

He also requested Jed Madela to get back to the stage to perform a shivering duet of Westlife's very own 'Flying Without Wings'.

Other songs he performed? We have the list here just for you!
Everything to Me
About You
This I Promise You
Swear It Again
Beautiful in White
What About Now
Knee Deep in My Heart
Need You Now
You Raise Me Up
World of Our Own

Everyone suddenly felt extra giddy when Shane noticed and asked a fan who apparently has "been waiting for 16 years to get a hug" from him, to come up on stage for a little surprise.

Filan last performed a solo concert in the country back in 2013, when he was promoting his "You and Me" album.

A huge thank you to Wilbros Live for once again making Filipinos' childhood dreams come true!
