Josh Groban set to perform for Bridges Tour in Manila

Ovation Productions on its 40th year of presenting some of the biggest names in live entertainment in the Philippines proudly announces its post Valentines concert at the Mall Of Asia Arena on February 22, 2019 featuring the supremely talented Josh Groban.

Josh Groban is an internationally renowned singer, songwriter, and actor whose baritone voice is instantly recognizable and unparalleled among his peers. He has entertained fans across the globe with his multiplatinum albums and DVDs (selling more than 30 million worldwide), electrifying live performances, and comedic film and television appearances. Groban is the only artist who has had two albums land on Billboard’s list of 20 best-sellers of the last 10 years.

The 35-year-old Los Angeles native first broke through in 2001 with his self-titled 5x platinum debut, followed by 2003’s 6x platinum Closer, and 2006’s double-platinum Awake. In 2007, he became the best-selling recording artist of the year thanks to sales of Awake and his blockbuster 6x platinum, Grammy-nominated Christmas album, Noel — the best-selling album of 2007. At the end of 2010, Groban released the Rick Rubin-produced, gold-certified Illuminations. All That Echoes followed in 2013, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, Groban’s first No. 1 debut and third chart-topper. Gold-certified All That Echoes racked up a host of positive reviews from major media outlets, including The New York Times, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and USA Today. His global arena tours routinely sell out, including his 2013 All That Echoes tour, which included 60 shows in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and North America.

In April 2015 Groban released his seventh studio album, Stages — a collection of some of the greatest musical theater songs of all time, which Groban describes as “gorgeously arranged songs that have stood the test of time,” and which he was drawn to because of their combination of “incredible melody with an incredible story.” Recorded with producers Humberto Gatica and Bernie Herms in both Los Angeles and London’s Abbey Road (with a 75-piece orchestra), Stages features songs from Les Misérables, Carousel, Sunday in the Park with George, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, The Fantasticks, A Chorus Line, Phantom of the Opera, and others. The gold-certified Stages was nominated for a 2016 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

Groban also released a CD/DVD package, entitled Stages Live, featuring performances recorded at the historic Los Angeles Theater in downtown L.A. for a PBS special entitled Josh Groban: Stages Live. The album has been nominated for a 2017 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Last July, Groban embarked on an extensive North American tour to support Stages, entitled “Josh Groban: On Stage.”

Also in 2016, Groban made his Broadway debut starring in the new musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, which opened to glowing reviews. The New York Times raved that “Josh Groban is absolutely wonderful…he invests his singing with the pain and frustration that define Pierre. And his acting is superb, as he all but trembles with the existential despair that courses through Pierre’s veins.” Time Out NY said: “Josh Groban plays the melancholy Pierre with intensity and a simply ravishing voice.”

As an actor, Groban has also appeared on Glee, The Simpsons, The Office, CSI: NY, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Crazy Ones, as well as in the feature films Crazy, Stupid, Love, Coffee Town, and Muppets Most Wanted. In 2015, he hosted ABC’s unique singing competition Rising Star. Groban is also a popular television talk-show guest, appearing in various late-night comedic sketches with Jimmy Kimmel, co-hosting Live With Regis and Kelly with Kelly Ripa, and paying tribute to Oprah Winfrey during the final week of her long-running show.

An active arts education philanthropist and advocate, Groban is a member of Americans for the Arts Artists Committee, on whose behalf he testified before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on the Interior on the value of the arts during Arts Advocacy Day in 2009. In July 2011, Groban established the Find Your Light Foundation, which helps enrich the lives of young people through arts, education, and cultural awareness. It covers a wide array of possibilities, from providing instruments and funding for arts programs in schools to introducing people to the arts and culture around them through the use of technology.

Josh Groban’s Bridges Tour 2019 live in Manila is presented by Ovation Productions. Boyz II Men with Divas: A Passionate Night with the Roses

Boyz II Men had once again proven themselves to be one of the best male R&B vocal group of all time. The evening was passionately filled with soul-soothing music including one of our favorites On Bended Knees, Four Seasons, Road and Mama to name a few. The crowd went gaga, especially the ladies over the dozens of red roses which the group handed over while singing "I'll Make Love To You".

Boyz II Men collaborated with our very own "Divas" namely; Yeng Constantino, Kyla, Angeline Quinto and KZ Tandingan who never fall short of their group and individual recitals. The "Divas" opening number already signalled that it was a night of exemplary performances. On the later part of the show, Boyz II Men invited them on stage and performed together "One Sweet Day"; a song written and performed by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men in 1995, which has been lauded with widespread acclaim.

Boyz II Men with Divas was brought to us by Wilbros Live.

The Moffatts Makes a Hit with The Reunion Tour 2018

They heard you, Filipino fans! Your favorite Canadian pop-rock-country boy band has just graced the Manila concert stage with your favourite throwback songs of the 90’s. The Moffatts concert last night dubbed as “The Reunion Tour 2018” was a sure hit not just for those who grew up in the 90’s but for the millennials as well.

Almost two years ago The Moffatts were here in Manila for The Moffatts’ Farewell Tour. Only three members of the group, Scott, Bob, and Clint were present during that tour. But it turns out that the Moffatts fans aren’t ready to let this Canadian boy band leave the concert stage. Now The Moffatts are back for The Reunion Tour 2018! This time all FOUR members of the band performed together on stage. For the first time after 20 years Scott, Bob, Clint, and Dave performed together live on stage in Manila. Their performance last night at the New Frontier Theater Manila is the third leg of their Reunion Tour 2018. They have already been to Jakarta and Cebu before gracing the Manila stage.

As expected, the band was warmly received by their fans. Hit songs like “I’ll Be There For You," “Miss You Like Crazy,” “If life Is So Short," “The Girl of My Dreams," and many more sing-along jams brought intense nostalgia from the famous 90's boy band that night. But the 90’s kids weren’t the only ones sold on their hits. Millennials and even 80’s babies have come to appreciate their music as well. As added bonus, the band also sang some of the songs that they never played even back in their days. These included songs like ‘Don’t Walk Away’ and ‘Girl I’m going to get you’ which the fans also liked.

Highlights of the concert include The Moffatts’ performance “I’ll Be There For You and “Crazy”. The crowd went wild and yelled on top of their lungs as the Moffatts hit the stage with these songs. Two lucky fans were also serenaded on stage with the song “Girl of My Dreams”. Of course, the concert will not be complete without the latest songs of the band. Two of their latest singles include “Secrets” and “Like I love U”.

The Moffatts is made up of Scott Moffatt and his triplet brothers Bob, Clint, and Dave. They started performing back in 1987 and have gone on to produce six albums since then. The Moffatts are considered as one of the hottest boy bands in the 90’s. Unfortunately, the group disbanded in 2001 and fans are left waiting for their comeback. After a long wait, The Moffatts fans in Manila got their wish last February 2017 as Bob, Clint, and Scott returned to Manila for their farewell concert tour. Dave also held a farewell concert on his own in May 2017. Early this year all four members of the band reunited for their single "Secrets," and a six-track EP which was released recently.

The Moffatts fans, old and new, had a blast in last night’s concert at the New Frontier. They left the venue with high spirits and hope that there will be more concerts to come. The Moffatts Reunion Tour is presented by Midas Promotions.

Filipino Fans had the Best "BREAKTIME" of Their Lives with Nonkul

Breaktime is always our favorite time!

Fans hold a surprise message for Chanon. Photo from left: Fanmeeting host, Myx VJ Ai, Fans, Chanon, and interpreter Ms. Louie.
Filipino fans had the best "BREAKTIME" of their lives as they bond closely with Chanon "Nonkul" Santinatornkul during his fan meeting in Manila held Friday afternoon at the SM Sky Dome.

Chanon, a Thai actor known for his breakthrough role on the 2017 film 'Bad Genius' met his fans for the second time and did heart fluttering get-to-know-you sessions and played games.
Everyone fall in love with Chanon even more when he serenade his fans with Ed Sheeran's "Perfect".

Chanon visited in Manila last year with co-star James for the premiere of Bad Genius. He shared he's inspired to go back because "Filipino fans are cute. I just want to be here."

Getting to Know Chanon!

Chanon shared to his fans how he started on the industry. He said that he started being a model first before he get a chance to pursue his acting career. "I was walking on the street when a lady approached me. She said I have a good style. I am hesitant at first. But then, after a while, I send her a very small picture and then she invite to shoot for a back cover of the magazine with a really famous star on the cover page, right? and it started to have some connection. It work from there."

A big factor that motivates him to pursue acting was the compliment of the director. It's the first compliment he got so it really means a lot to him. "I went to cast one TV commercial and then the other guys take around one to two takes to pass and I took from eleven to twelve takes. And so, it really frustrated me that's why I went to the acting and then after that I get more work, and then the director told me that  'Oh, you're acting is okay' and that compliment is like what motivate me to get going."

His first ever role was through a short film. It took a while before he's acting career soars but it was a great start. "First ever role. It's not like an official role. It was a short film by Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit is called "Patcha is Sexy". I am a student. I am a goal keeper. It's not something that. I didn't get the to show that much of football scene because I was just standing there. I shoot that more on my junior high but when it actually released, it take one year."

Like everyone of us, he also got shy when he first saw himself on the screen. How adorable was that, right? "I'm embarrassed. I'm really embarrassed because you know when you get it on the camera your face look bigger than your real self. It's really big. The frame is like this *gesturing a frame* and my face is like almost half the frame. I was quite fat. I had a baby fat on my face."

He laughs when people referred him as the 'Bad Genius' saying "Well, I'm no genius, so don't put that pressure on me."
His most memorable role was his first film where he actually get to show off his skills in acting. "Most memorable? I would say, it's the role that I play as 'Pid'. It's a feature film called 'Love is Coming'. I'm not a big cast and just like a support character but at that time I get a role that I had a real dialogue, I feel so much improvisation and lot of line."

In the future he likes to play action roles, if given a chance. "The role I look forward to would probably be Kingsman. I would like to act like a spy or something like that because I like action films and I love the fighting scenes.

Apart from acting he wants to do other things such as singing and acting.

Lastly, he gave his advice to fans who wants to follow his footsteps "If you want to be successful, you must aim for the top."

Lots of #FunGames

Chanon was so "GAME" to play pinoy games with his fans. They played 'patintero', paper dance, jumping rope, and memory game.

Winners of the said games received hugs, holding hands, 10 second stares with Chanon, and signed posters. Fans really did something good in their past life that they were so LUCKY during Chanon's fan meeting." It's totally #Fangoals!

Taste of 'Pinoy' Food

At the fan meeting, he tasted different Filipino food like chicken inasal, pork sisig, turon, and taho.
Among the food that he tasted he said that turon was his favorite because they have chicken and pork in Thailand but they don't have turon so that's what he like and it's sweet too!

He also shared that he ate puto bumbong a day before the fanmeeting and it was good. Out of all Filipino food he tasted even before, he likes puto bumbong. And last time he ate balut. Luckily, it don't have a chick / duck inside but after that he doesn't want to eat balut again.
Fans went crazy when Chanon himself shared his taho to a lucky fan.

Slum Book

Chanon reminisce his childhood on "slum book" portion. A video played showing unreleased photos of his recent graduation, childhood dream - football player, childhood photos, and his ultimate crush Im Yoona.

A Surprise from Filipino Fans

Nonkul Chanon Philippines prepared a surprise video for Chanon.

The afternoon fun and excitement ended after the Thai actor sang Filipino song "Dahil Sa'yo" as a surprised gift to his fans. It was his way of showing his gratitude for all the love and support his fans has given him throughout the years.

"I am grateful to have these lovely people supporting me, please stay with me forever." - Chanon

Everyone goes out at the venue with a smile on their face as they have brought with them Chanon's love, high touch and photo op experience, and school kit souvenirs.

Breaktime! Chanon Santinatornkul Fan Meeting in Manila is brought to fans by CDM Entertainment in partnership with MaxPerience Entertainment, Do Concert, and Nadao Bangkok.
