Andy Brown Promises a Lawson Comeback During Acoustic Concert

Andy Brown, lead singer of English band Lawson, returned to Manila following his band's 2013 & 2015 series of shows for an acoustic concert at the SM North SkyDome.
The intimate night was kicked off with a meet and greet for VIP ticket buyers wherein fans were able to talk to the singer, get a poster signed, and have a picture taken with their favorite singer. Following the meet and greet, Steph Martell made the night more relaxing with her voice as she opened the concert.

Andy Brown performed his original songs as well as hits made by his band to serve fans with nostalgic feels. The concert started with songs off  "Cedarmont", his debut album, namely "Talk of The Town", "Lay With Me", and Lawson tracks "Learn To Love Again", and "Taking Over Me".
The next part of the concert also featured alternating songs by Lawson and off his own record. He proceeded with "Put That Record On", "Keeper", "When She Was Mine", "Broken Hearted", and "Juliet".

The most exciting part of the show was probably when the English singer teased a comeback of Lawson. He expressed that maybe in the following year, Lawson will be back in Manila with new music.

The night ended with "Landslide", a song about running into your ex, "You Had Me At Hello", "Honey", and all-time favorite Lawson songs "Where My Love Goes", and "Standing In The Dark".
Even after it's been long since Lawson's last album, it's refreshing to see Andy Brown still doing what he loves the most, performing for his fans. The concert reminded us that love for a certain band simply will not go away as we can always go back to these concerts wherein we can sing our hearts out to songs we once jammed to  (and still are jamming to) along with people who share the same love for the artist/band.

Jesse McCartney's first show in Manila will be on July 13

“From its whistling opening bars, to its buoyant multi-layered production, jaunty tropical beat and auto-tune vocal injections, "Wasted" sounds like a pop song of 2018.” – Paper Mag

“The acoustic track provides deeper emotion to what was previously a jaunty, dance-inducing song. McCartney’s vocals are as smooth as ever as he pleads for more than a hookup with his love interest.” – Entertainment Tonight

“’Better With You’ features an airy beat drop that fits into today’s collection of dance-tinged hits.” - Billboard

Critically acclaimed pop artist, Jesse McCartney is thrilled to announce his debut Manila show on July 13th at The New Frontier Theater. Tickets are on sale April 3rd at www.ticketnet.com.ph or call 911-5555 with the following ticket prices: VIP Php 4,500, Orchestra Php 3,500, Loge Php 1,600 and Balcony Php 800. Brought to you by Random Minds.

Recently Jesse released his tongue-in-cheek music video for his single “Wasted.” CLICK HERE to watch exclusively on Rolling Stone. The video was directed by Jason Lester.

Since the release of “Wasted,” the song reached #5 on the iTunes US Pop chart and #32 on Apple Music, the track is also included on the A-List: Pop and Spotify’s It’s A Hit playlist.

Last year, he released “Better With You” his first music since his well-received 2014 album In Technicolor.  “Better With You” premiered on Paper Magazine and reached #28 on the Spotify US Viral chart, #42 on the Global viral chart, and the official music video has almost 10 Million views. Also the song has been getting airplay with Elvis Duran/iHeart Radio and Sirius XM.

The New York-born singer-songwriter, producer and actor has had the kind of career that most young artists aspire to. Since the beginning, McCartney has attracted a diehard fan base thanks to many things: his rhythmic, R&B-tinged pop-rock sound, his self-deprecating humor expressed through interviews and on social media, and his ability to write heartfelt, relatable songs that are both personal and universal. His recent music is no different. With multiple platinum-selling tracks and a songwriting credit on Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love” under his belt McCartney is ready to introduce his fans to who he is today. He plans to release more music throughout 2019 and bring his dedicated fans along for the ride.

An evening of great music at Sponge Cola's Sea of Lights

Several years ago, I attended my first Sponge Cola gig somewhere in Manila. I was 25 years old at that time when a friend of mine dragged me in a free concert which I was smitten to the song Jeepney.

Last night's Sea of Lights has awakened my soul. I can't imagine how Yael, Gosh, Armo, and TedMark evolved as a band. Listening to their songs got me teary-eyed last night. Their charm towards their fans never fades.

From their songs such as Manila Bay which is included in their latest album, Sea of Lights to energetic Bitiw, watching Sponge Cola's concert like going back to the memory lane.

Last night's concert was held at Power Mac Center Spotlight. I Belong to the Zoo started off as he serenaded the crowd with his songs such as Sana and Balang Araw. Talented duo Leanne and Naara joined the stage with the band as they did a soulful rendition of Di Na Mababawi.

Gloc-9 appeared on stage when he did the rap part of Manila Bay. I giggled over the backdrop of the stage as they played Karylle and Yael's wedding while performing Gemini.

Special thanks to Universal Records for having us last night.

FUTURE will cast his spell in Singapore on May 9

LAMC Productions is excited to announce that Atlanta Hip-hop Superstar and Multi-platinum trailblazer, FUTURE, will make his anticipated debut in Singapore on May 9, 2019, at [email protected]!

Future just released his anxiously awaited seventh full-length album, Future Hndrxx Presents: The WIZRD. Upon arrival, it captured a spot in the Top 5 on Apple Music Overall Top Albums Chart and #1 on Apple Music Top Hip-Hop/Rap Albums Chart where it continues to hold strong.

Where would hip-hop be without Future? With millions of singles and albums sold, countless packed shows, and streams in the billions, his shadow looms heavy over the game. He carried trap music from the bandos to fashion shows as a generation of Southern artists rose in his wake.
A decade-long grind gave rise to an unbelievable string of mixtapes, reaching its apex on the trifecta of Monster, Beast Mode, and 56 Nights. 2015’s DS2 became his first of five number one debuts on the Billboard Top 200 followed by What a Time To Be Alive with Drake and Evol. In 2017, he unleashed the platinum-certified Future and gold-selling Hndrxx back-to-back and emerged as “the first artist to release two Billboard Top 200 number ones in consecutive weeks.Future‘s “Mask Off” went quadruple-platinum, ascended to #5 on the Hot 100, and became his biggest smash yet.
He performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, lit up Coachella, and headlined the massive “Nobody Safe” Tour. As he covered issues of GQ, Rolling Stone, and XXL, Hndrxx graced year-end lists from Pitchfork, Complex, Entertainment Weekly, Noisey, Variety, and more. He teamed with Young Thug for the collaborative epic Super Slimey, which captured #2 on the Billboard Top 200 upon arrival. Extending his reach yet again, he provided the soundtrack for the high-profile Superfly.
His latest release, THE WIZRD saw the groundbreaking visionary perfect the sonic sorcery that cemented his place in the rap history books. He initially teased the release by way of the first single “Crushed Up. In a little under three weeks, it already eclipsed 10 million Spotify streams and over 7 million YouTube views for its music video and attracted widespread critical acclaim.
The album also boasts a handful of blockbuster collaborations. “UNICORN PURP” [feat. Young Thug & Gunna] unites three of Atlanta’s most iconoclastic talents on one psyched-out banger. “FIRST OFF” [feat. Travis Scott] threads together wildly woozy melodies as these two titans lock into a chaotic call-and-response.  That’s just the tip of the iceberg as this new body of work represents Future leveling up yet again, and the results prove nothing short of mind-blowing…
You don’t want to miss out on this super exciting concert experience!
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Mar 25, 2019, via the official ticketing agent SISTIC, at www.sistic.com.sg and via the SISTIC Hotline (65) 6348-5555 and at all SISTIC Authorised Agents.

Shanti Dope drops new single "Amatz"

Coming off of his roller-coaster year 2018, rap phenomenon Shanti Dope is ready to drop a much-awaited new track. Since the release of his "Materyal" EP in December 2017, Shanti has enjoyed universal success - bringing in over 40 million Spotify streams for his smash hit "Nadarang" (with its accompanying music video garnering over 26 million hits on YouTube), touring the whole Philippines and multiple states in the US, and collaborating with OPM sensations IV of Spades, and international stars such as Krayzie Bone (of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony) and Mimi on the track "Crazy", as well as appearing on the track "Almost Love" with singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter.

Official Music video for Shanti Dope's hit song Nadarang

This 2019, Shanti is dropping what is sure to be another hit with his newest track 'Amatz.' The song, produced by long-time collaborator Klumcee, features what fans have come to love with the rapper-songwriter with an infectious hook and having lyrics close to his life, while also featuring a new Oriental flavor that will keep fans and new listeners wanting more. And after the year that has been, the 17 year-old showcases an evolved style, now having more hard-hitting verses to his track.

Talking more about the track, producer Klumcee says "The song Amatz’ message is about having a natural high - being one with nature, and an awareness about our environment in society, which is bombarded by synthetics and chemicals. We made a conscious effort to make it sound like a banger so that a lot of people would enjoy and feel the vibe and message behind the song." Asked more about what is in store for Shanti this year, the collaborator says that "as always, you should expect the unexpected [from Shanti] this coming year."

'Amatz' marks the beginning of a new era for Shanti Dope, and with its release, all points lead to another fiery-hot year for this young and relentless rap phenomenon.

Amatz will be available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon on March 22, 2019, under Universal Records.

Not Just a Pretty Face: Ruel Kicks off "Ready Tour" in Manila

2018 Breakthrough artist Ruel from Australia played for an intimate and chill show for his fans in Manila last night at the Teatrino in Greenhills, San Juan.
The said show is part of the British-born singer's "Ready" tour, which kicked off in the country. Prior to the performance, Ruel visited RX93.1 and MYXPH to promote his show during his stay in Manila.

The show was opened by local acts Syd Hartha, who performed cover songs and an original, plus The Voice Kids alumna Heart Salvador, who also performed a couple of cover songs which prepared the audience for a night of singing and dancing.

Fans welcomed Ruel with a loud "We love Ruel!" chant which got the singer excited and performed the opening tracks "Golden Years", "Ultralight", and hit song "Dazed & Confused".

Aside from hyping the crowd with his performances, the entire experience was elevated with Ruel's superior boy-crush looks. He also performed "Not Thinking About You", "Weathered", "Say", a cover of "Call Out My Name", and an unreleased song titled "Real Thing" wherein he also said it's his first time to be performing the said track- the crowd responded by loud cheers in excitement.

The last part of the show included performances of "Unsaid", wherein the singer opened up about anxiety and depression. For us, the highlight of the show definitely is this part as societal issues are important to address especially if an artist is given the platform to be heard, Ruel maximized his just the right way. He proceeded to "Who Did That To You", "Painkiller", "Bellyache", and "Don't Tell Me". As the fans cheered "We want more!", the singer ended his "Ready" show with his hit "Younger".

As typical music junkies would say, Ruel is a mixture of the sounds of Greyson Chance and Shawn Mendes. Upon seeing him live, he definitely proved he can stand out as his own name. He is not just another rising artist with a pretty face as his voice will definitely melt listeners' hearts. During the meet and greet, he took time to meet fans while taking pictures and allowing autographs. What truly got us to feel connected to the singer is how open he is with talking about mental issues-  not all artists get to be as open to their fans like Ruel. With this, he definitely proved how "Ready" he is for the industry as he embarks on his world tour and his rising career.

80s concert queen Sheena Easton set to perform in Manila on July 25 at The Theatre at Solaire

The common misconception about doing nostalgic retro shows and concerts is that it’s easy to find any artist past the decades-old mark with a mere few radio hits to trigger childhood memories and bring audiences back to a certain time in their lives. But the real trick, in retrospect, is finding that one artist who will not only bring back a few memories, but offer a spectacle of both talent and numerous pieces of music that audiences have grown-up-alongside-to: a distinct voice, songs for every season and mood, and of course, the know-how to deliver these songs as they were meant to be.

Which is why Random Minds is proud to present one of those rare artists who proudly wear the title of being a “master performer” in the game: SHEENA EASTON, who is making her way to Manila this July 26th at The Theatre at Solaire.

With a critically acclaimed career spanning four decades and including both Gold and Platinum albums in the major continents of the United States, Europe and Asia, Sheena Easton – who has sold over 20 million albums worldwide, garnered two Grammy Awards and has the honor of being the only recording artist to have five records on five major Billboard Charts – has seen and done it all. Aside from her recording career, she has had a multitude of both television and film appearances, and has starred in notable Broadway shows such as Grease and Man of La Mancha, which remains to be one of the top five grossing hits at the box office. Recently she was also inducted into the Las Vegas Hall of Fame.

Of course, we remember her most for her music: a veritable singer for all seasons, her impressive body of work includes being an 80s disco-pop queen with such early classics as “Modern Girl,” “Morning Train (Nine to Five),” then-evolving into a songstress with the Academy Award-nominated James Bond OST “For Your Eyes Only,” and her version of the song “Wind Beneath My Wings,” a country singer via “We’ve Got Time Tonight” (a duet which featured her alongside country music great Kenny Rogers), and a synth-pop superstar of the 80s via the infectious smash single “Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair).” Shortly after, she regained her status as the premier female balladeer with the single “Almost Over You,” which was – and still is – a home-run single around the world especially in Asia.

The subsequent years that followed found Easton exploring more musical territory outside mainstream music working on soundtracks and releasing material alongside producers like Prince, David Foster, Babyface and Nile Rodgers to name a few, she has also embarked on symphony concerts alongside other singers and even did a round of venues in Australia.

And now, the wait is finally over for her Filipino fans as Random Minds will be bringing the memories and the music straight to YOU. Relive the magic of the times you first heard her masterpieces, on Friday July 26th, 2019, 8pm at The Theatre at Solaire. Tickets will be made available this March 22nd in the following prices (plus ticketing charges): VIP A at Php 7,500.00, VIP B at Php 7,000.00, Gold at Php 5,100.00, Silver at Php 3,500.00 and Balcony seating at Php 2,500.00. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketworld and interested parties can contact them for more information through www.ticketworld.com.ph, and/or through their hotline 891-9999.

This year, Sponge Cola will be celebrating another great year of being one of the premiere OPM rock bands in the industry - and in true Sponge Cola fashion, they’re bringing their songs, both old and new, straight to their audience through their one-night intimate concert “Sea of Lights” on March 29, 2019 at the Power Mac Spotlight Circuit Makati at 7PM.

Rita Ora's first Manila show; praises Filipino singers as best vocalist in the world

Last Sunday night was surreal. Few years ago, I posted a tweet that hoping that Rita Ora will have a tour in the country. I can't even imagine that I'm going to see her on stage.

Talented British singer-songwriter sizzled up her Filipino fans at the New Frontier Theatre as part of her Phoenix world tour. I can't imagine that she's really good on stage.

During the show, Ora praises Filipino singers as best vocalist in the world. Despite the fact that it's her first Manila show, everyone in the crowd danced to her songs.

Some of the songs are from her latest album, Phoenix. Hope she'll be back in Manila for another show.
