2ne1's CL's "Dr. Pepper" Dominates the Billboard Top 10 Chart

American Music Video "Dr. Pepper" by Diplo turns out to be a successful collaboration with
2ne1's one and only 'Baddest Female' and Atlanta rapper-of-the-moment CL, OG Maco, and Riff Raff  as it dominates the 'Last 24 Hours' Billboard Top 10 Chart and gains most number of social media shares upon its released earlier today.

Dr. Pepper MV is a catchy and energetic turn-up anthems of the summer. The four stars get weird on the video, spending much of the clip on a bright green limousine, and party hard on a rented mansion featuring a brigade of women twerking.

The video also highlighted animated visuals including dinosaurs, pikachus and Dr. Pepper cans floating around the screen.

Dr. Pepper Music Video Origin

CL spoke about the tracks' somewhat hilarious origins on The Fader "Diplo canceled a session on me and I was so mad at him. I was drinking a can of Dr. Pepper and wrote the song so I could go home as soon as possible. Diplo ended up loving it."

The addictive and repetitive hook Dr. Pepper is one of the Best Songs of 2015 so far, and its largely due to Diplos' eye clawing stomps, and CL's exploding personality.

CL's Future American Solo Album Debut

The 24-year-old YG artist is only just starting to break in US music market and looks like she deservedly so.

The Maine thrilled their Filipino fans at Ayala Fairview Terraces

The Maine, a band from Arizona, visited Manila last August 11, 2015 for their 8123 Manila DVD launch held at Fairview Terraces.

Crowd around Fairview Terraces during The Maine's DVD signing

The band generously signed all the DVD bought by their fans at the venue. You can really see it to their faces that they're really happy to be back in our country. The way they entertain the fans during the meet & greet and the way they smile and hug all the girls (and even boys), it was really heart warming.

8123 DVD *weeee*

After the DVD signing...
Pat Kirch, drummer of The Maine, took some photos of the Manila crowd.

After 2 hours of DVD signing, John O'Callaghan and Jared Monaco serenade the Fairview Terraces of their acoustic set. Wow. That was really amazing! That's my first time hearing them play acoustic, though. Thank you for that awesome experience! But the most memorable part...John's banter! He really is a talker, huh? He really talks too much and I like that especially when a band performs in live. You know, it's not just music, we need also some funny entertainment during the show. ;)

"We're All Time Low"
- John said we he introduces their self when they got up the stage. *lol*

Thank You Pulp Live World and Fairview Terraces for this awesome night with The Maine.

The Maine set list:

1. Miles Away
2. Sad Songs
3. This House is not for Sale (Ryan Adams' cover)
4. Love and Drugs
5. English Girls

Rockin out with The Used Live in Manila 2015

Last July 31, 2015, The Used conquered Manila for the third time, but this time was a solo concert held in SM North EDSA Skydome in Quezon City. Boys and girls were very ecstatic by this concert, seeing The Used live again. Their guitarist Quinn Allman is not present in the show but Justin Shekoski, guitarist of Saosin, was there to replace Quinn’s absence.

Justin Shekoski and Bert McCracken

Bert Mccracken was very sweet that he wore an “I <3 Manila” shirt given by a fan during the meet & greet happened before the show. The band played 14 songs, including different songs from their old and new album, but mostly in the old albums.

The Used concert is not complete without a circle pit. Guys and even girls joined the pit requested by Bert during ‘The Best of Me’ and the people went crazier to their last song ‘A Box Full of Sharp Objects’ with ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ by Nirvana and  ‘Killing in the Name’ by Rage Against The Machine by the end of the song. But the most unforgettable part was when they sang ‘On My Own’, and Bert Mccracken said “This music in particular (On My Own) has saved my life over and over and over. And I’m sure it will continue save my life until the day that I die”.  Everyone really feel the emotion. This solo concert is far different from their past shows here in Manila ‘cause in this one; you can really feel the connection to the band while they’re performing. The people inside the Skydome became one big family, singing together, jumping together from every beat of the song. Very memorable that you crave for more.

Thank you Pulp Live World, Yellow Room Music Philippines and other people behind this wonderful event and lastly, Thank you The Used for loving the Philippines. Bert Mccracken once said during the show that this was one of their best shows in Manila.

The Used live in Manila set list:

Maybe Memories
Take It Away
The Bird and the Worm
Listening
I Caught Fire
The Taste of Ink
All That I’ve Got
Buried Myself Alive
Blue and Yellow
Cry
The Best Of Me
On MY Own

Fandom Capital celebrates their 1st anniversary; collab with indie band Along Van Buren

This month, online merch store Fandom Capital is celebrating its first anniversary. They recently partnered with local band Along Van Buren to be the face(s) of FC all month. They'll be wearing their merch to their gigs this month!

And because we love our local musicians, Along Van Buren's gigs will also serve as meetup/
pick-up points for customers. It's great to see the very reason behind Fandom Capital come to life: bringing different people of similar interest and tastes in music, TV, and movies together. That's exactly what happened between Fandom Capital and the members of Along Van Buren.

The band expressed with their original music and covers, and we do our best at it with design. All shirts purchased from their store this month comes with an Along Van Buren sticker.

Last month, they had a poll on their Facebook page on which phased out designs people want to bring back. Instead of the original plan to bring back only one design with the most votes, they brought two back: Bastille and Echosmith.

Although there was about a 30-vote difference between the two, but the whole time it was a toss between them. And because they're all for making fandoms happy, we decided to bring both back. The Echosmith design didn't make it to print last year, so it's really exciting to finally have them on shirts.

Meanwhile, they are in the final stages of their webstore that will make shopping from them easier!
Although it will still be on it's beta stage all month, Fandom Capital is hoping that this will make things a lot easier for everyone. They also get inquiries on whether or not an item or design is still
available, so it made perfect sense to create an online webstore. This way, everyone gets to
see if an item they want is still available, or track how many shirts are left before a design
gets sold out. We still want to make shirts and bags in limited quantities for that feeling of exclusivity.
